Casa San Juan Bosco Residential Housing consists of 53 single-family homes on a 29-acre plot of land in DeSoto County for low-income farmworkers in Arcadia. Of the 53 units, 16 will be four-bedroom, two- bath units and 37 will be three-bedroom, two-bath units. The development will feature a 1,600-square-foot community center, which will include a computer lab as well as offices for maintenance personnel and on-site managers.
Diversified Yacht Services started with the demolition of the marina and boat storage facility that was a long-standing fixture at the mainland foot of Matanzas Bridge. Construction has begun on the new 50,000 SF large-vessel service facility, and the 10,000 SF harbormaster outpost. The yacht service facility houses indoor and outdoor paint booths, a 150-ton travel lift, and full waterside fueling facilities; the 80 foot tall structure can accommodate vessels of up to 110 lineal feet and is designed to withstand 150-mph winds. Once complete, this facility will be one of the first of its kind on the Florida Gulf Coast.
Brooks & Freund was selected to remodel the old Frito-Lay warehouse on Metro Parkway into the new local home of the Free and Accepted Masons, Tropical Lodge. The old office/warehouse has been transformed inside and out. The exterior blends modern and ancient designs that pay reverence to Freemasonry’s extensive history. Inside you will find the dining hall has a state-of-the-art sound system and stained concrete floors, new offices, new restrooms with shower facilities, and a fully furnished commercial kitchen.
A continuation of the affordable housing development situated on the HACFM campus, Renaissance Preserve Phases II,III, and IVa is 224 units spread across 29 residential buildings, plus various amenities such as athletic courts, gazebos, a Community Services Building, and library. HUD/HACFM requirements included Davis-Bacon wages, Section 3 employee placement, and M/W/DBE participation.
