Richard formed the General Contractor/Construction Management firm Brooks and Freund, LLC with Donald Brooks in August of 2000. He brings more than 25 years of Construction Management to he team. Richard is a graduate of The University of Florida, with a degree in Construction Management and he is a Class A Certified Contractor. Early in his career, Richard served as an estimator and project manager for S.A.C. Construction in Miami before relocating to Southwest Florida. In 1996 he joined F & D Construction, Inc. where is served as president prior to partnering with Donald Brooks.
Richard, a hands on leader, is involved in every aspect of the Construction Management process at B&F. Richard is a firm believer in aggressively pursuing the goals of every client and team. Richard’s no nonsense attitude and impeccable attention to detail enables Brooks and Freund to deliver exceptional service from conceptualization to construction for their each and every client.
Eric Brooks, also a University of Florida alumnus, earned a B.S. in Building Construction. Eric’s ten years of experience in Construction Management include interior build outs, multifamily dwellings, government projects, and heavy infrastructure. Currently his main responsibility is overseeing the company’s Estimating Department and Business Development. Eric earned accreditation as a LEED AP (Accredited Professional) from the U.S. Green Building Council in 2009. Eric’s devotion to the B & F team and his thorough approach to the construction process enables him to suggest creative ideas and alternatives for his clients, so that projects are finished promptly with little impact to their ongoing operations.
As a Fort Myers native, Eric is active in the community. He is a class of 2007 graduate of Leadership Lee County and he is a three year member of the United Way Allocation Team.
Jack Jamme has over 30 years of experience in all phases of construction and construction management. He offers vital knowledge in many areas, including project budgeting, project accounting, design-build, and conceptual estimating. Jack received his degree in building construction from The University of Florida. After graduation , Jack served as an estimator/project manager for a S.A.C. Construction in Miami. In 1997, he formed Turn Key Construction Inc., where he served as President. Today, one can find examples of Jack’s shell construction throughout Miami, including the American Airlines Arena. Jack joined Brooks and Freund in August 2005 and is tasked with many of our most demanding projects.
Before joining Brooks & Freund, Dennis specialized in the construction management of large scale multi family communities. We have taken advantage of his wealth of knowledge and experience and assigned Dennis to some of our largest condominium and apartment projects. Dennis is capable of wearing both the Project Manager and Superintendent hats.
Jim has been a member of the Brooks & Freund team from day one, but Jim’s working relationship with Richard and Jack dates back to their days in Miami. For years Jim served as B&F’s General Superintendent, overseeing all field personnel, but as the company has adjusted with the changing times, Jim has returned to the Project Manager role.
Michael Brooks has been a full time member of the Brooks and Freund Team for 4 years. He began as an intern while attending The University of Florida. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Building Construction with a Business Minor in 2007.
Michael has prepared competitive hard bid and negotiated proposals on projects across the state for a variety of public and private clients. These projects have included Government Facilities, Multifamily Complexes, Medical Facilities, Educational Facilities, Religious Facilities, Shopping Plazas, Interior Build-outs, Renovations, Parks, Banks, Marinas, Airport Work, Civil Infrastructure and Water & Waste Water Treatment Plants. Michael is a LEED Accredited Professional and possesses his Florida Real Estate License.
With over 10 years of experience, Deborah is a valuable member of the Brooks and Freund team. She works closely with Project Managers to facilitate administration duties of the construction process from pre-design to close-out package. Having worked in a variety of construction administrative positions, Debbie is proficient in the creating, processing, and tracking of all manner of construction documentation, such as RFI’s. Debbie is also our certified payroll specialist for federally-funded projects.
Michelle has headed the Accounting Department at Brooks & Freund since the company’s inception. But her duties extend far beyond accounting – human resources, payroll, contracts, change orders, and job cost tracking are all handled directly by Michelle. Her dedication, efficiency, and experience make her an invaluable member of the Brooks & Freund team and a constant presence in the company’s day-to day operations. She earned a Masters Degree in Accounting from The University of South Florida and an Executive MBA from The Florida Gulf Coast University.
With her permitting expertise and her estimating experience, Peggy is a unique asset to the Brooks & Freund team. Her experience in the Southwest Florida construction industry began 17 years ago with Donald Brooks at Brooks, Inc. In the years that followed, Peggy established lasting relationships with a wide swath of the industry and it is those relationships, plus Peggy’s hard work, that make her such a valuable contributor to the team.
Marketing AdministratorAshley Nicolette is the newest member of the Brooks and Freund team. Ashley graduated from The Florida State University with a Business Administration and Merchandising Degree. She has spent the last 6 years working in marketing and advertising in Southwest Florida, and she was more than excited to join the B&F team when the opportunity arose. Ashley’s responsibilities include all marketing, public relations, and community involvement.
