Lenny Maenza

Lenny joined Brooks & Freund, LLC in 2017, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, including carpentry and business ownership. He has over 13 years of experience as a senior superintendent, overseeing projects across Florida. Known for his hands-on approach and strong field execution, Lenny combines practical experience with proven skills in planning, problem solving, and communication to keep projects running smoothly. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from the State University of New York at Oneonta.

David Lawless

David joined Brooks & Freund, LLC in 2013, bringing more than 20 years of experience in Florida’s commercial construction industry. His expertise covers multifamily and student housing, condominiums, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, storage and warehouse facilities, entertainment venues, commercial and residential projects, and renovations. David takes a collaborative approach to pre-construction services, working with owners and design teams to earn negotiated work and identify cost-saving opportunities early in the design process. He is a licensed Certified General Contractor and holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of Florida.

Joseph McClaran

Joseph joined Brooks & Freund, LLC in 2018, bringing over 13 years of experience in design-build construction. His project work spans light rail lines, wineries, multifamily housing, industrial manufacturing centers, and distribution facilities. With experience as a project engineer, superintendent, and project manager, Joseph manages all phases of construction, adapting to complex challenges with practical insight and technical expertise. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, and an Associate of Science in Physical Sciences.

Richard Freund

Richard founded Brooks & Freund, LLC in 2000, bringing over 30 years of construction management experience to the firm. He leads the company with a hands-on, practical approach, working closely with his team to ensure quality and consistency at every stage of a project. Richard credits the firm’s success to the dedication and expertise of its people and is known for his straightforward leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering outstanding service from concept through construction. A firm believer in building lasting client partnerships based on trust, accountability, and results. Richard is a Class A Certified Contractor and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from the University of Florida.

Rose McCurry

Rose joined Brooks & Freund, LLC in 2012, bringing a deep passion for the construction industry inspired by her father, a contractor. She plays a key role in the management team, overseeing permitting, contracts, project administration, equipment, and day-to-day office operations. Rose’s diverse expertise and organizational skills ensure that projects run efficiently from the office to the field. She holds an Associate’s degree with a concentration in Construction Technology from Florida Southwestern State College.

Michelle Wise

Michelle joined Brooks & Freund, LLC in 2001 as head of the Accounting Department and has since become a cornerstone of the management team. Known for her dedication, efficiency, and extensive expertise, she ensures the company’s financial operations run smoothly and supports the overall success of every project. Michelle holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of South Florida and an Executive MBA from Florida Gulf Coast University.
